The brand-new GEN3 GSD from TERN is still the perfect solution for families with two kids or those who need to carry both a child and heavy cargo. This compact bike can handle impressive loads while maintaining the same length as a standard bicycle.
We’re excited to see that some variants now feature the new Bosch Smart System, which includes the Bosch Alarm and Bosch Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), enhancing both security and safety. We’re hopeful that Tern will soon release a version with Enviolo, which is our preferred transmission choice for the streets of Porto.
With a design similar to the previous generation, it's perfect for shared use among family and friends of varying heights. The geometry ensures we can easily place our feet on the ground, making starting and stopping a breeze—even with a heavy load. The double-leg kickstand continues to be a standout feature, offering extra stability, especially when carrying more cargo.
We also appreciate the dual battery compatibility, available across all variants, ranging from 500Wh to 800Wh, depending on the variant. This setup offers the flexibility to add a second battery for extended range, which is particularly useful when hauling heavy loads.
Pro-Tip: If storage space is tight, all Tern bikes can be stored vertically, which is a major plus!
