The Multitinker is designed to carry up to two children, as well as school bags, groceries, and everyday cargo.
Its extended rear carrier can be configured to carry:

Two kids in two child seats
One kid on a child seat and another kid without it
One or two kids without child seats
With dedicated child-carrying accessories, while additional carrying options leave room for everything else that comes with a normal family day.

The Multitinker uses 20-inch wheels, placing the children and cargo lower to the ground. That lower centre of gravity is one of the reasons Riese & Müller designed the bike to remain stable and predictable when carrying cargo.
At 188.7 cm long, its cargo capacity comes from an extended rear section, getting through narrow streets, manoeuvring outside school, parking next to other bikes or finding somewhere practical to keep it at home.
Its wide tyres, front suspension and Magura hydraulic disc brakes are also designed around the additional demands of a cargo e-bike.
The important part is not the specification itself: it is the feeling of control when starting, stopping, turning or arriving at the school gate with two children behind you.

The Multitinker uses a universal frame, with a stem that adjusts in both height and angle and a saddle position that can be changed quickly.
That is particularly useful for families where both parents intend to use the same bike but have significantly different heights. Instead of setting the trial up around one person, we can establish the correct positions for both riders during handover and show you how to switch between them.
The real test is whether the bike works for the household, not just for one rider.

Our city isn’t flat, and family life rarely travels light. The Multitinker has the power to make steep city streets manageable even with children, shopping or school bags on board. The bike uses Bosch’s motors up to 120Nm, specifically designed to provide strong assistance when climbing and accelerating under load.
Its 625 Wh battery gives plenty of range for a normal family day. As a practical estimate, we would expect around 40–70 km in real family use, depending on the hills, weight carried, assistance level, weather and amount of stop-start riding.
For most school runs, work trips and everyday errands, that means less thinking about the battery and more simply using the bike.
And during the trial, you’ll discover what that range actually looks like on your streets, with your family and your routine.

The Trial

For our family trials, we use the Riese & Müller Multitinker, a compact premium e-cargo bike designed for everyday urban life and capable of carrying up to two children with the appropriate setup. We configure the bike and accessories around your family, riders, and intended routine before the trial begins.

The Multitinker is specifically designed for child transport when used with the correct Riese & Müller equipment and within the recommended age and load limits. Before you leave, we fit the bike to you and explain child loading, riding, braking, parking, and the accessories so you can start confidently.

Yes. The Multitinker has an adjustable riding position that makes it easy to adapt between different rider heights and weights. During handover, we can set it up with both of you, so switching riders is quick and comfortable.

Yes. You’ll need a secure place to keep the bike when it isn’t being used, particularly overnight.

We treat the trial as daily mobility, not a rental. If something stops the routine, we respond with a fix, pickup, or replacement option according to availability.
We will be there for you. -
We arrange a personal handover at our shop before your trial. We fit the bike, prepare your family setup, and explain how to ride, charge, lock, and use accessories before you leave.
At the end of the trial, you return the bike to our shop at the agreed time, and we review the experience together: what worked, what didn’t, and what makes sense next.

Availability depends on the trial length and our current fleet. Longer trials can be booked further in advance, so we recommend choosing your dates early.

The DECISION

Yes. We are experienced in supporting Fundo Ambiental applications and can help you understand the process, prepare the necessary information, and make sure everything is submitted correctly.
The latest 2026 Fundo Ambiental application window is now closed. Under that programme, eligible electric cargo bikes could receive 50% of the purchase price, up to €1,500, subject to the official conditions and approval.
We keep track of new incentive programmes and can help you understand the requirements if a new application window opens.

If you decide to buy an electric cargo bike from us within 30 days of returning your trial bike, 100% of your trial fee becomes purchase credit.
So a €300 trial means €300 towards your bike.

Yes. The trial is about understanding whether an electric cargo bike works for your routine, not locking you into one particular bike.
If the Multitinker proves the concept but another model would suit your family better, we’ll help you choose the right one. Your trial credit can be used towards any electric cargo bike purchase from CICLO.
