Changing the urban standard

A bicycle is undoubtedly a versatile means of transportation.

Beyond being a simple leisure activity, it is capable of incredible feats.

We firmly believe that electric cargo bikes will redefine the urban standard.

With fantastic cargo options allowing the transportation of packages, adults, children, equipment, and groceries, the key is in the name.

Versatility

An electric cargo bicycle, in particular, stands out as a cost-effective "car killer" with comparable urban capabilities. Rising fuel prices, exorbitant car insurance costs, and the hassle of finding parking spaces have propelled the electric bicycle into a more appealing choice.

Cargo bikes showcase versatility. They not only offer easier parking solutions but also boast impressive transport capacitiespedaling effortlessly with gross weights ranging from 165 to 200 kg, providing complete control from point A to B.

These specialized cargo bicycles can comfortably accommodate passengers, including children or even adults, not to mention our four-legged companions.

Designed as heavy-duty bikes, electric cargo bicycles feature performance brakes, robust motors, large-capacity batteries, and a sturdy build, ready for various challenges.

As outlined below, electric cargo bicycles can be effectively categorized based on their dedicated cargo area into two configurations: Longtail and Frontloader.

TYPES OF E-CARGO BIKES

longtail

On the "longtail," the rear rack is constructed with an elongated frame, providing the capacity to accommodate a variety of cargo.

Depending on the chosen configuration, safety bars and sideload platforms can be added, offering improved comfort, particularly for passengers, or better support for the weight of pannier bags. Additionally, a standard bicycle trailer can also be attached for even more cargo options.

Versatility extends to those who prefer a closer sensation to riding a "regular" bicycle.
For those not wanting to be exclusively focused on the cargo aspect, the "longtail" is essentially a bicycle with an extended rear. This configuration allows riders to pedal towards adventures, including trails, without the aesthetic constraints of a "cargo box," which will be discussed shortly.

LONGTAIL

The Riese & Müller "longtail" offers a range of options to cater to diverse preferences.

Every Multicharger model is a GT, featuring larger tires, performance brakes, full suspension (both fork and seatpost), impressive lights with adjustable power settings, and a robust motor. This electric bicycle is excellently crafted to seamlessly blend cargo capabilities with urban commuting needs.

The rack on the Multicharger can support up to 65kg of weight, making it more than sufficient for tasks such as grocery shopping or transporting children from infancy to the age when they'll have their own bike demands.

Additional features include the option to add a cushioned seat, safety bars, 33 liters capacity pannier bags, side load platforms (11 kg capacity on each side), and a front cargo platform (with a 15 kg capacity).
For those seeking extended range, a 500Wh battery can be added, bringing the total capacity to 1025Wh.

Riese & Müller also offers the MIXTE variant for the Multicharger, presenting the same bike with a top frame tube curved down. This design allows for easy mounting and dismounting, especially beneficial when carrying substantial cargo in the rear. It's worth noting that MIXTE variants do not support the double battery option.

frontloader

This E-Cargo Bike has the front section entirely devoted to transport, featuring a cargo box positioned in front of the handlebars and behind the front wheel, hence the name "cargo box”.

Riding these bicycles differs slightly from traditional ones, but it's merely a matter of habit that can be quickly acquired.

The "cargo box" design offers the highest weight capacities, accommodating around 300 liters of volume in the cargo area alone—more than sufficient for transporting, for instance, two to three comfortably seated kids, creating an experience akin to a limousine.

These bikes can effortlessly carry up to 200 kg of weight, and it's worth noting that they also have a regular-sized rear rack and the option to attach a bike trailer.

Proper weight distribution is crucial, considering the contrast between the substantial cargo area in the front and the rider's weight in the rear. Robust, sizable, and reasonably large—these are the qualities you seek when opting to replace a car (or a van!).

Heavy-duty performance for your service needs!

FRONTLOADER

The Load by Riese & Müller stands as the pinnacle of electric cargo bicycles, bearing the full capabilities of cargo monsters. It also benefits from a full suspension setting named “Control Technology” by the brand.

The front box area is spacious enough to accommodate a multitude of scenarios: a rigid box cover for optimal protection of large volumes, comfortable child seats for up to three little ones (in the case of the Load 75), and an excellent rain cover (which, by definition, can also be used to carry packages like groceries when kids are not around). It’s an authentic fortress that glides incredibly on two wheels!

The weight distribution here is fantastic, thanks to a detailed design that, like in all Riese & Müller bicycles, includes a mid-drive motor.

Even with substantial loads, riding it is a smooth experience - making it a fantastic option, even for transportation companies.
